BUCS Indoors 2016 Team Selection Announced

Today Cardiff Met Athletics Club has announced it’s BUCS Indoor National Championship Team that will compete in Sheffield on 19-21st February. The Team is looking to build on the previous years second placing’s in the overall competition behind Loughborough. The women’s team boasts Rebecca Chapman who last year won the women’s long jump and performed well in the sprint events as well. Alongside Rebecca in the 60m will be on form Charlotte Wingfield who recently broke the Maltese national record for 60m when she clocked a new personal best at the Welsh Championships. In the field Adele Nicoll and Lucy Griffiths lead an extremely competitive selection in the women’s shot put. Adele fresh from her indoor success at the Welsh National Champs is looking to perform well at the champs and further extend her new indoor welsh record.

On the men’s roster Dan Trueman will be aiming to impress as he did last year in the 200m and improve his personal best whilst aiming for the podium in that event. Dan will join a strong relay line up who look to go faster than their 1.29: 27 varsity victory recorded in Lee Valley last week.  Continuing on the track Niall Holt, Aaron Phelps and Kieran Wood look to continue their recent good form on the indoor stage in the 1500m and 3000m respectively.
