Wingfield Aiming High at World Indoors

Less than a week following the completion and hand in of her final year dissertation student athlete Charlotte Wingfield has jetted off to represent Malta at the World Indoor Championships. The championships take place in Portland, Oregon (USA) and will involve 547 athletes (299 male 148 female) from 148 nations.

Over the previous 12 months the Maltese athlete has set a number of national records as well as representing her country at the European Athletics Team Champs, U23 European Championships along with winning the National title in the 100m and 200m.

Tomorrow (Saturday 19th March) Charlotte will line up in heat two of the women’s 60m round one at the Portland conference centre alongside hot favourite for the world title Dafne Schippers. Charlotte will be aiming for a PB and a strong performance to spring board her into her outdoor season.
