The second fixture of the Gwent League this season has proved successful and well worth the long journey as our endurance teams showcased their talent across both Men’s and Women’s races. Following on from the home fixture in early October, the teams once again proved their strengths with highly respectable team results, with the Women taking 2nd place, and the Men’s team taking 1st place in the university rankings. The Junior Men’s race was also packed well with Cardiff Met athletes, with Freshers Tom Gostelow and Adrian Lloyd-Davies placing 4th and 5th respectively, showing class early on in their university career.
Notable individual results include Ciaran Lewis taking a convincing win in the Senior Men’s race, Matt Williams taking fourth, also in the Senior Men’s race, and Sian Edwards taking the win in the Senior Women’s race. Combined with the team results, the 2018/19 winter is looking positive, with our entire Cross Country Squad looking in good form, very early on in the season.
Keep up to date as our athletes battle it out in the annual varsity match against Birmingham University on Wednesday 14th November.
