The Indoor and Cross Country season has concluded. Before the start of the Cardiff Met Outdoor campaign, here are some of the impressive highlights…

Indoor Track & Field Highlights

NOV: Another highly successful and well supported Inter-Varsity Vs University of Birmingham

DEC/JAN/FEB: Record numbers and impressive performances including National & All-comers records at the RAF & Cardiff Met GP series.

FEB: 3rd Place in the Inter-Varsity, Lee Valley.

FEB: 4th Place Team at the BUCS Indoor Championships- medallists; Morgan Jones (Gold Am 60m) and PB, Fiona Hockey (Silver PV) and PB, Amy Odunaiya (Bronze 200m), Womens 4x200m – Charlotte Wingfield, Loren Bleaken, Melissa Roberts, Amy Odunaiya and Mel Stephenson (Bronze) and Men’s 4x200m – Gareth Hopkins, Jason Amartey, Kane Densley, Daniel Trueman and Tyler Williams.  Top Eight; Gage Francis (6th, TJ), James King (8th, TJ), Charlotte Wingfield (5th, 60m), Joe Pearse (6th, HJ), Belen Simmaro (7th, HJ), Jade Brewster (4th, PV), Matt Clowes (5th, 1500m), Loren Bleaken (5th, 200m) and Dan Trueman (7th, 200m).

FEB: Age group championships (UK). Silver Fiona Hockey (U20W PV), Zach Harrop 4th (U”)M PV). (Zoe Nash and Catherine Hardy Semi Final, U20W 60m).

MARCH: International honours at the Welsh Athletics International; (Wales U20) Amy Odunaiya, Zoe Nash & Tyler Williams. (England U20); Fiona Hockey.

MARCH: European Indoor Championships; (Malta) Charlotte Wingfield.

Cross-Country Highlights

OCT: 3rd Place Welsh University XC Relays. (Fastest leg Josh Griffiths)

JAN: Welsh University Team gold medals for men and women and individual titles for Matt Clowes & Lucy Marland.

FEB: 14th Place Finishes for both men’s and women’s teams at the BUCS championship.

MARCH (OCT/NOV/DEC/FEB): Individual University Gwent league titles for Joel Redman & Lucy Marland, plus team silver medals for both men and women.

MARCH: International honours at Home Countries: Lucy Marland (Wales) Ciaran Lewis (Wales) & Gareth Griffiths (Wales)
